SMÚ Reaffirms the Strength of Its Quality Management System at the EURAMET TC-Q Meeting
From 25 to 27 March 2026, the EURAMET Technical Committee for Quality (TC-Q) met in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC). The meeting programme included presentations on the quality management systems of seven member National Metrology Institutes and twelve Designated Institutes.
These presentations are a key element of the process used to assess the reliability of quality management systems against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. Confidence in these systems is directly linked to the international recognition of calibration and measurement capabilities under the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement. As part of this process, each organisation is required to demonstrate the effective operation of its quality management system to expert peers within the TC-Q.
At this year’s meeting, the Slovak Institute of Metrology (SMÚ) also presented its quality management system. The presentation took place on 27 March 2026 and resulted in the TC-Q once again confirming full confidence in SMÚ’s quality management system. This is an important prerequisite for maintaining, and potentially further strengthening, the international recognition of the Institute’s professional competence in metrology.
