Metrology Experts Day Hosted by the Slovak Institute of Metrology
Today, the Slovak Institute of Metrology (SMÚ) hosted a Metrology Experts Day attended by experts from the Slovak Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing, the central government authority responsible for standardization, metrology, and testing. The event was also attended by experts and inspectors from the Slovak Metrological Inspectorate, the authority responsible for metrological supervision and acting as the market surveillance authority for measuring instruments, as well as specialists from the Slovak National Accreditation Service, the public-law body responsible for accrediting conformity assessment bodies. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to tour SMÚ’s metrology laboratories and observe their technical equipment, while engaging in professional discussions and exchanging practical experience with metrology specialists, research scientists, and custodians of national measurement standards across the Institute’s departments, including Ionizing Radiation Department, Mass, Pressure, and Geometric Quantities Department, Thermometry, Photometry, and Radiometry Department, Chemistry Department, Electricity and Time Department as well as Flow Department.The second session of this event will take place on 19 March 2026.
